Let’s get started!

Step 1: Choose Your Stone Edging

There are many different types of stone edging available, so take some time to browse through your options and choose the style that you like best. Some of the most popular choices include natural stone, brick, and concrete blocks.

  • Natural stone edging is a beautiful option that will add a rustic touch to your landscape.
  • Brick edging is a classic choice that can be used to create clean lines and definitions in your garden.
  • Concrete block edging is a versatile option that can be used to create both straight and curved edges.

Step 2: Plan Out Your Design

Once you have chosen your stone edging, it’s time to start planning out your design. Draw a sketch of your landscape and decide where you want to install the edging.

It’s important to take into account the shape of your lawn and garden beds when planning your design. You’ll also need to consider the size of the stones that you’ve chosen.

Once you have your stone borders installed, it’s a great time to add more to your outdoor design by planting trees and bushes.

Step 3: Prepare the Ground

Before you can start installing your stone edging, you’ll need to prepare the ground. Use a spade or shovel to dig a trench around the perimeter of your design.

The trench should be about 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep. If you’re using concrete blocks, you’ll also need to dig a hole in the center of each block.

Make sure your soil is prepared for planting.  Properly prepared soil will improve each year, which will yield more beautiful plants and flowers.

Step 4: Install the Edging

Now it’s time to start installing your stone edging. If you’re using natural stone, brick, or concrete blocks, begin by placing the stones into the trench.

Make sure that the stones are level and snug against each other.

If you’re using concrete blocks, place them into the holes that you’ve dug.

Once all of the stones are in place, fill in the trench with soil and compact it down.

Step 6: Fill Up the Edging With Soil

Now that your stone edging is installed, you’ll need to fill it up with soil.

Use a spade or shovel to add soil to the edging until it’s level with the rest of your landscape.

Once the edging is filled with soil, you can add plants, mulch, or whatever you like to complete your design.

Step 7: Add Your Finishing Touches

After your stone edging is installed, it’s time to add your finishing touches. If you’re using natural stone, you may want to add a layer of mulch or gravel to help protect the stones from weathering. If you’re using concrete blocks, you can use mortar to fill in any gaps between the blocks.

Decoration options are endless, so have fun with them!

Congratulations! You’ve just installed stone landscape edging in your yard or garden. This simple project can really add a lot of personality and definition to your landscape. With a little bit of time and patience, anyone can do it! Thanks for reading.
